A Georgia Department of Transportation H.E.R.O. (Highway Emergency Response Operator) who was removing debris from I-85 at Old Peachtree Road on Tuesday, June 21, was seriously injured after he was struck by a tractor trailer in Gwinnett County, according to news reports.

Troy Moore, of Conyers, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries, likely broken bones, according to news reports.

A semi truck accident typically involves serious, debilitating injuries, said Georgia personal injury lawyer Gary Martin Hays, of the Law Offices of Gary Martin Hays Associates, P.C.

Moore, who was outside of his vehicle, was struck by a tractor-trailer that hit two other cars. He was clearing tire debris from a lane.
